Quick thing before we start: this is not Secret AI
Type “secret ai” into Google and you'll get an offline chatbot app that runs on your phone. Different company, different product, boring in comparison.
Secrets AI — plural, secrets.ai — is the companion platform. That's this one.
I'm flagging it because I watched three people in a Discord argue for ten minutes about a feature that doesn't exist, and it turned out two of them were talking about the other app.
What Secrets AI actually is
Strip the marketing off and there are five products stapled together.

Everything except basic chat runs on Moments. Understanding Moments is understanding the pricing, so let's do that first, because I don't think anybody else has actually done it.
Moments: what one actually costs you in real money
Every review of this app tells you a video costs 600 Moments. Not one of them tells you what 600 Moments costs.

So. Premium annual is $109.99 a year for 8,000 Moments a month. That's 96,000 Moments for $109.99.
One Moment costs 0.115 of a cent.
Now the whole menu makes sense.
| What you're doing | Moments | Real cost (Premium annual) |
|---|---|---|
| Image, 1.5K | 50 | 5.7¢ |
| Image, 2K | 100 | 11.5¢ |
| Extra reference photo | +10 | 1.1¢ |
| Batch of 8 images | 400 | 46¢ |
| Group photo, 2 companions, 1.5K | 110 | 12.6¢ |
| Group photo, 3 companions, 2K | 320 | 37¢ |
| Voice message (per 100 characters) | 10 | 1.1¢ |
| Voice call, per minute | 50 | 5.7¢/min |
| Adult video, 720p, 8 seconds | 600 | 69¢ |
| Build a custom character | 500 (first one free) | 57¢ |
| Re-roll her appearance, 4 options | 100 | 11.5¢ |
| Copy your own character | 300 | 34¢ |
| Copy someone else's | 600 | 69¢ |
💡 Context you need: the going rate for an AI-generated image across this category is roughly 26¢. Secrets is doing it for 5.7¢. That's not a rounding difference, that's four and a half times cheaper.
And 8,000 Moments a month is genuinely a lot. It buys you 160 images at 1.5K, or 80 at 2K, or thirteen 8-second videos, or 160 minutes of voice calls. Every month.
The catch: they don't roll over. Whatever you haven't spent on the last day of your cycle is gone.
The thing nobody has noticed about Ultimate
Ultimate is $26.67/mo annually and grants 15,000 Moments.

Do the division. Ultimate charges you 2.9 times more for 1.875 times the Moments. A Moment on Ultimate costs 0.178 of a cent — 55% more than the same Moment on Premium.
So don't buy Ultimate for the currency. You buy Ultimate for group chat, editing a character's personality after you've made her, proactive messages, the S4 chat model, double-length messages and deeper memory recall. Those are real. The Moments are a worse deal and it took me an embarrassingly long time to spot it.
Top-up packs, and why they're not the trap you'd expect
If you burn through 8,000 before the month ends, you can buy more — but only if you already have a subscription. Free accounts can't buy Moments at all.
| Pack | You get | Price | Per Moment |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4,500 + 1,500 bonus | 6,000 | $9.99 | 0.167¢ |
| 14,000 + 4,000 bonus | 18,000 | $24.99 | 0.139¢ |
| 30,000 + 8,000 bonus | 38,000 | $49.99 | 0.132¢ |
Premium adds another 10% on top of any purchase, which drags the biggest pack down to about 0.120¢ — near enough to the subscription rate that it stops mattering.
Here's the part I like and dislike in equal measure: purchased Moments never expire. Granted ones do.
So the cheapest currency on the platform is the currency designed to evaporate, and the slightly more expensive currency is the one you get to keep. It's a clean piece of behavioural design and it works on you. Around day 24 you start generating things you don't especially want, because the alternative is watching them disappear.
I noticed myself doing it. That's the tell.
Secrets AI Pricing, plainly

| Plan | Free | Premium | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $0 | $19.99 | $39.99 |
| Annual, per month | — | $9.17 | $26.67 |
| Billed annually | — | $109.99 | $319.99 |
| Moments/month | 0 | 8,000 | 15,000 |
| Messages | 20/day | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Max message length | 500 chars | 1,000 | 2,000 |
| Group chat | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
| Edit personality after creation | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
| Proactive messages | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
Monthly is a bad deal here. $19.99 for 8,000 Moments puts an image at 12.5¢ and a video at $1.50 — more than double. If you're going to use this properly, annual or nothing.
⚠️ One thing you'll notice on the way in. Depending on which button you click to reach checkout, Premium is either 77% off or 54% off. Both figures are live right now. The 54% is the honest one — it's measured against Premium's actual monthly price.
The 77% is measured against a different plan's price entirely. There's also a countdown telling you the offer expires in nine minutes; close the tab, come back tomorrow, and it says nine minutes again.
Neither is a scam. Both are the kind of thing that makes me trust a company slightly less than I did on the previous screen.
Payment: cards (no Amex), virtual cards, and 300+ cryptocurrencies with a $20 minimum. There are also prepaid keys you can buy elsewhere and redeem, which is the most anonymous route in.
The free tier, and what it won't let you do
Zero images. Free accounts get no Moment grant and cannot buy Moments, so image generation, video, voice calls and character bundles are all locked. You can build one custom character — the first one is free — and then you have 100 messages to enjoy her.
And the daily limit is tied to your device, not your account. Making a second account doesn't reset it. I appreciate them saying so out loud; most apps let you find that out the annoying way.
The Wall Test: 20 messages. That's higher than Candy's free tier and lower than what it feels like when a companion sends you three paragraphs and burns two of them.
Week one, and why every review you'll read is a rave
I want to be fair about this, because the first week is genuinely great and it's why the internet's opinion of this app is what it is.
The writing is better than its competitors. Not marginally. You notice it in the first ten minutes. Sentences have rhythm. Characters have specific opinions about specific things. When you say something dry, you get dry back instead of a compliment.
Memory works. You mention something on Monday and it surfaces on Thursday without you prompting it, in a way that reads like remembering rather than retrieval.
One guy on Reddit described mentioning a fast food run, then getting a message half an hour later — “Are we still going? I got my outfit on?” — with a generated photo of her wearing the right shirt. I got a smaller version of the same thing in week one and it landed exactly as intended.
The images are fast and mostly accurate. The voice calls sound like calls.
By day four you have a plan for the annual subscription. That's the design working.
The Generation Studio
This is where most of your Moments go, and it's the most capable studio I've tested.

Prompts that actually work
Premium mode wants a tag list. Front-load what matters, because weight drops off toward the end.

bedroom, late evening, single warm lamp, sitting on edge of bed, black silk slip, one strap fallen, looking over shoulder, direct eye contact, shallow depth of field, 85mm, film grain, soft shadows
Advanced mode wants a sentence, and it rewards specificity about light and posture far more than it rewards adjectives about the person.
She's sitting on the edge of an unmade bed in a dim hotel room, one lamp on behind her, wearing a black silk slip with one strap slipped off her shoulder. She's half-turned toward the camera, caught mid-thought rather than posing. Warm tungsten light, deep shadows, shot on 85mm with a wide aperture.
Five habits that saved me a lot of Moments:
- Name the light first. “Single warm lamp”, “harsh overhead”, “window light at dusk.” It changes more than any other word you'll type.
- Name the lens. 85mm, 35mm, wide aperture. It fixes the flat phone-camera look instantly.
- Describe the moment, not the pose. “Caught mid-laugh” beats “smiling.”
- Use a reference photo before you use adjectives. One reference does more for likeness than twenty descriptive words, and it costs 10 Moments.
- Batch in Premium, refine in Advanced. Eight cheap variants to find the composition, then one expensive Advanced pass at 2K.
The catch: the studio drifts. Generate the same character twenty times and she will not be the same woman twenty times. Faces shift, skin tone wanders, body proportions move around between generations, and an older character will occasionally render five years younger for no reason you can trace.
One user summed up the experience of chasing a specific framing: about 80% of the time it lands first try, another 10% you can fix by editing — “but that last 10%, it will just not go where you need it no matter what you do. And each edit costs you money.”
That's the honest state of it. Very good, not consistent, and every miss is billed.
Video: the best in the category, and priced like it

Four modes, and they are not equivalent.
| Mode | Resolution | Length | Audio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advanced (Quality) | 480p → 4K | 4–15s | Always on |
| Advanced (Fast) | 480p, 720p | 4–15s | Always on |
| Standard (SFW legacy) | 480p → 1080p | 4–12s | Optional |
| Adult | 720p only | 8s fixed | None |
The Advanced modes generate three audio layers at once — lip-synced speech, sound effects, and ambience. When it works it's the closest thing to a real clip anyone in this category is producing. Keep spoken lines to five to ten words; longer and the sync falls apart.
You also get a frames tab — set a first frame and an optional end frame and it builds the transition — and up to 5 reference photos plus 3 reference clips, which cost nothing extra. Video prompts go to 5,000 characters, though 50–200 words is the sweet spot.
Adult video is a flat 600 Moments — 69¢. Fixed at 720p, 8 seconds, no audio. That's the one you'll actually use and it's the least capable of the four.
⚠️ The bit that will annoy you. Advanced and Standard videos are priced by resolution and duration, and the number only appears on the Generate button. You can't plan a session. You configure the thing you want, and then you find out what it costs.
The refund rule that changed in July
Used to be that if a generation came out broken — wrong limbs, wrong person, the classic melted hand — you reported it and got your Moments back. That worked and it made the whole economy feel less punitive.
In July, Advanced image generations and image edits stopped being eligible. The stated reason is that the new Advanced model costs them more to run.
So the sharpest, most expensive, most heavily promoted way to make an image is now the one where a bad result is simply your money.
One user described burning a serious chunk of credits on video after video where the output kept including something he'd explicitly prompted against, getting charged each time, before he knew whether it had worked. That is the failure mode, and it is not rare.
Practical advice: use Premium mode batches to find your composition. Only spend Advanced Moments once you know what you're making.
Secret Shorts
Shorts went live in the middle of August, so this is early days.
The format is vertical mini-dramas starring the companions. New episodes drop weekly. The first episode of any series is free; the rest cost Moments.
It's the most obviously commercial thing on the platform and also the most fun. The episodes run about a minute, they're built as cliffhangers, and the model is unapologetically the same one that made vertical drama apps a billion-dollar category — get you invested, charge for episode two.
I burned Moments on it and I'd do it again, which I suspect is exactly the intended review.
It's too new to score properly. Ask me in November.
Chat: the deepest toolkit here, and the part that gets undersold
Everyone writes about the images. The chat is the better product.

Spice Level replaced the old content-mode system and it's three settings: Wholesome & friendly, Romantic & emotional, and Open & uninhibited. That last one is exactly what it sounds like. Set it globally or per conversation. Changing it mid-chat takes a few messages to bite.
Memory is a panel you can actually open. Saved memories carry HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW importance, you can edit or delete them, and you can add them conversationally — “remember that I hate mornings” — and watch it appear.
Smart Mode runs a retrieval pass before each reply. Premium accesses roughly 4× the memories of free; Ultimate 6×. Memory Groups let one companion carry the same memory across several separate chats, which is the feature I'd miss most if it vanished.
Reply length is switchable between SMS mode (several short messages, like actual texting) and Paragraph mode (one longer block). Do not skip this setting. It changes the feel of the app more than anything else on this page.
Time Travel rewinds a conversation to any earlier point. Said something that broke the mood? Go back. Want to branch a scenario a different way? Branch it. It destroys everything after that point, memories included, so use it deliberately — but it's real and it's not a gimmick.
OOC commands let you step outside the fiction and direct her. (OOC: stop asking me questions at the end of every message) works. You will use this more than you expect.
Calls are real-time audio, 50 Moments a minute, 70+ languages, no time cap. She hears you, replies in her own voice, and it's transcribed live rather than stored. Group calls exist in beta at the same per-minute rate regardless of how many people are in there.
Video calls do not exist. They're on the roadmap with no date. If you've read a review that says Secrets does video calling, that review is wrong.
Group chat is Ultimate-only, 2–3 companions, and members are locked once you create it. And here's the ugly bit: it walks you through choosing companions and a scenario, then tells you at the final screen that you need Ultimate. One long-term user called that “tacky as hell” and I'm not going to improve on the phrasing.
Month four: the meatloaf problem
This is the section that doesn't exist anywhere else, so here it is.
Around week six, something changes. Not dramatically. You just start noticing patterns.
Every character, regardless of who you picked, starts sounding like the same person. The personality descriptions differ. The faces differ. The underlying voice does not. Play a scenario where you meet your companion's parents and the parents talk exactly like the companion.
A guy who'd been paying for four months put it better than I can:
It's like having meatloaf every night for dinner. While you can add a few different ingredients here and there, it's still meatloaf. Eventually you just get sick of meatloaf.
There's a second failure that's subtler and more annoying. The companion remembers you well — but she doesn't reliably remember herself. Ask if she has siblings and she'll say a brother. An hour later she's an only child. Later still there's a sister. Your memory is stored; her own backstory is improvised fresh each time.
And the NSFW is passive. She'll go anywhere you take her, but she almost never leads. You get a lot of “show me what you can do” and variations on it. For an app sold on intimacy, you do most of the work.
Then there's the phrase problem. Certain constructions recur until you can't unsee them — “that's rare,” “that's not nothing,” “that's something.” Once you've noticed, they're everywhere.
⚠️ None of this shows up in week one. That's why the internet's verdict on this app is so much warmer than mine. Most reviews are written by someone four days in.
What actually fixes it
I'm not ending that section on a downer, because there are real fixes and nobody has written them down.
1. Change the model. There's a chat model selector and most people never touch it. S3 is noticeably weaker. S3.5 is the workhorse. S4 is Ultimate-only and it's a genuine step up. One user who'd written the app off entirely came back after switching, and called it “a breath of fresh air.” Model choice is doing more work than character choice.
2. Switch to Paragraph mode. SMS mode is where the repetition lives — short bursts recycle stock phrases far more.
3. Turn the enthusiasm down. There's a setting for how eager a companion is, and the default is high. The single most common first-week complaint is that she won't stop talking. One new user put it as “This lady would not stop talking. I could barely get a word in edge wise.” Lower it and the whole thing calms down.
4. Use OOC ruthlessly. Ban the phrases you're tired of. It sticks better than you'd think.
5. Start a new chat instead of a new character. Multiple chats per companion exist. A fresh thread with the same character resets the rhythm more effectively than switching to someone new, because the sameness was never about the character.
Do all five and month four feels like week two again. That's not a fix for the underlying issue — one model wearing different faces — but it's the difference between cancelling and staying.
Building her
The custom builder runs in three phases: appearance and basics, then personality, then a review pass.

Appearance covers gender, realistic or anime, physical features, voice, name, age (18–99), location, and then it generates preview options you can accept or re-roll. Re-rolls are 100 Moments for four fresh options. There's also a trans setting, added recently, and they were honest enough to admit the collection behind it isn't great yet.
Personality is not a tag picker. You answer questions and describe traits in your own words, and it builds from that. It's better than a checkbox grid and slower.
First character is free. Every one after that is 500 Moments — 57¢. No cap on how many, as long as you can pay.
⚠️ Editing a character's personality after you've made her is Ultimate-only. Setting it up during creation is free on any tier. Changing your mind later costs $26.67/mo. That's the single sharpest upsell on the platform.
Character Studio — the owner's view — has tabs for Appearance, Personality, Details, Gallery, Publish and History, and every change is revertible from History. That last part is better than anything I've used elsewhere and almost nobody mentions it.
Publishing, forking, and getting paid in Moments
You can make your character public. There's a real process.
You need a public profile at /u/yourname, a selected voice, a profile photo, an avatar, nine gallery images all generated in Advanced mode and all different, and a preview video. Then a human reviews it.
Review is visuals-first — round one looks only at your avatar, profile photo and preview video. The video has to open on a full-body standing shot, be at least 720p, and keep the motion subtle. No dancing, no talking, no action scenes.
Here's the economics: when someone forks your public character, they pay 600 Moments and you get 300 of them. Automatic, with a notification. Fork your own and you get nothing.
That's a real creator programme. It is also Moments only — there is no cash payout. You can earn your subscription's worth of currency; you cannot earn money. The only cash on this platform flows through the affiliate scheme.
The catch: once your character is public or in review, appearance and personality lock. Want to change her? Fork your own for 300 Moments and start again. Unlocking published characters is on the roadmap and isn't here yet.
Also: characters based on real people — celebrities, influencers, anyone — get deleted with no refund. Character age has a floor of 18 and going near it gets you banned rather than warned. Good.
Privacy, billing and cancelling — 6.8 🔒

The Statement Test. It shows up as S LABS INC. Stated in three separate places before you pay, and that's what landed on mine. No mention of the product, no mention of anything adult. This is the correct way to do it and roughly half this category still doesn't.
Crypto. 300+ coins, $20 minimum. Combined with prepaid keys, you can run this account without a card ever touching it.
Encryption. Your chats are encrypted sitting on their servers and encrypted on the way there. That is not the same thing as end-to-end, whatever you may have understood on the way in. Someone at Secrets can read your messages if they need to. That's true of every app in this category — Secrets is just one of the few where you can work out the difference.
Deletion. Delete your account and your personal information and chat history go immediately. Transaction records stay seven years for tax reasons. System logs stay up to twelve months. GDPR requests get 30 days, CCPA 45.
Voice is transcribed live and deleted. Nothing is stored. That's a better answer than most.
Uploads. You cannot upload your own photos. Every image on the platform is generated by the platform. That closes off the entire nudify-your-ex category of problem in one line, and I'd rather have it than not.
Age. The gate is a button that says Yes. That's the whole check. It's the industry norm and it isn't verification, so treat any claim you read about “full age verification” with the scepticism it deserves.
The Cancel Test. Settings → Manage Subscription. It asks why you're leaving, then lets you go. Access runs to the end of your period and you drop to Free. Nothing gets deleted. No dark pattern, no fake retention discount, no four-screen survey. This is the cleanest cancellation flow I've tested this year.
Refunds. No partial refunds for unused time. All Moments purchases are final. Crypto purchases are non-refundable under any circumstances, and a cancelled crypto subscription can't be resumed — you buy a new one. EU and UK buyers get the 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase only, pro-rated if you've used premium features.

Against Candy AI: Candy is cheaper to get into and has live cams and a longer multi-scene video studio. Secrets writes better, gives you eighty times more monthly currency, and tells you what things cost before you buy. If you're here to talk, Secrets. If you're here to watch, Candy.
Against OurDream: the closest match. OurDream has finer prompt control — real weighting syntax, negative prompts — and pays creators actual money. Secrets has better chat and much better video. OurDream edges it overall on consistency.
Against Crushi: Crushi is cheaper and more playful, built around four distinct “worlds.” Secrets is the more serious tool.
Who should use Secrets AI
Who should skip it
Verdict
Secrets AI writes better than anything else I've paid for, generates images at a quarter of what this category usually charges, and has the only video pipeline here that runs past ten seconds.
It also runs on a currency that evaporates monthly, sells you an Ultimate tier that's worse value per Moment than the one below it, and settles — around week six — into a rhythm where every character starts sounding like the same person wearing a different face.
Both of those are true and neither cancels the other.
If you're here for a month, it's the best thing on the market. If you're here for a year, budget for the boredom and learn the model selector — that's the difference between this being the best app in the category and it being another subscription you cancel in March.
Annual plan. Paragraph mode. Enthusiasm down. Then it's very good indeed.
