Minute one — the door, and the age gate
Counter: 0 messages · 0 coins · $0 spent.
The site opens on an age gate. One button saying you're over 18. No date of birth, no ID, no card. Age-gate grade: D. It's a checkbox with better typography, it's the industry standard, and it's still a D.
Behind it sits the character grid: Realistic, Anime, a Guys tab, and a Community shelf of user-made characters. You can open any of them and start typing without an account, which is rarer than it should be.
The first five. A logged-out visitor gets five messages. She replies in full, no blur, no “sign up to see the rest,” a real reply in the character's voice. Message six triggers the signup modal.
Message 3, before I'd signed up:
She wasn't wrong. Message four is where it asked me to sign up.

Minute three — signup, and the 55 coins nobody mentions

Email and password, or Google. No card, no phone number, no real name. The verification email arrived inside a minute, and clicking it did the one thing that isn't advertised anywhere: 55 DreamCoins landed in the account.
That number isn't in the pricing copy and isn't in the support articles. It's what I received, it matches what every other write-up reports, and it carries today's date on it.
What a coin buys is on the record, and the line that matters for a free account is the first one: subscribers chat for 0 coins, free users pay 1 coin a message.
So the 55 coins are 55 messages. Not 55 images. Not 55 of anything else.

The counter, part one — messages, and where the wall lands

I spent them. One character, one thread, to see what a free conversation is actually like and exactly where it ends.
There's no daily reset and no come-back-tomorrow bonus. OurDream is upfront that it doesn't hand out free coins, beyond giveaways in its Discord. So the free tier is a bucket, not a tap. Sixty messages, once.
Wall Distance: 60 messages: Fifty-nine if you touch the Genius toggle once.
For comparison: GoLove‘s free tier is unlimited text with no card, Candy‘s is five messages, and Secrets gives twenty a day. OurDream's sixty-once sits between a taste and a habit, and it's engineered to run out mid-conversation.
Counter: 60 messages · 0 coins · $0.
The counter, part two — images, and the number that surprises people
Zero.
Most competitors let a free account generate one or two blurred images as bait. OurDream doesn't, and it's straightforward about that: no image or video generation without a subscription. The generator page loads, the prompt box takes your text, and the Generate button opens the upgrade screen.

What you can do free is look. Every character's gallery is visible, unblurred, dozens of images per character, plus the Community shelf of other people's creations. It's a showroom.
And the showroom is honestly the best argument for the product. Character consistency across a single character's gallery is what OurDream does better than anything else at this price, and you can see that for nothing.
Is anything blurred? Not on the free tier, because you have nothing of your own to blur. The blur is a lapsed subscriber's problem: coins never expire, but images and videos you generated blur once the subscription ends, and you can't buy more coins without an active plan. Worth knowing before you pay. The safety guide goes further into it.
Counter: 60 messages · 0 images · 0 videos.
The counter, part three — every other way coins arrive
The grant is the whole story, but there are four other routes and I chased each one.
And the route that doesn't exist: promo codes. There's no public OurDream coupon. Every circulating string I typed into the checkout came back invalid or expired. The coupon page has the receipts and the two discounts that are real.
What free is worth, in dollars
55 DreamCoins at about 1.2¢ each = 66 cents. Add the five logged-out messages at the same rate and call it 72 cents.

That's the face value: less than a dollar, all of it chat, once.
Put another way, a free account gets 6% of one month's coins and 0% of one month's features. The $9.99 annual plan's first day is worth more than the entire free tier by a factor of about fifteen, before you generate a single image.
I want to be fair about this. OurDream's free tier is the most honest demo in the category precisely because it doesn't pretend. No blurred bait images, no daily drip, no unlock-for-one-coin tease. Sixty messages of the real model, look at everything, decide.
The catch: as a free product, the way GoLove runs one, it isn't one and was never meant to be.
Free vs $9.99 annual vs $19.99 monthly
| Features | Free | Premium annual | Premium monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $9.99/mo, $119.88 up front | $19.99/mo |
| Chat | 60 messages, once | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Coins | 55, once | 1,000/mo plus 1,000 bonus on day one | 1,000/mo |
| Images | ❌ | 5 coins in chat, 10 per pair standalone | same |
| Video | ❌ | 100 coins per 5 seconds, up to 60s | same |
| Voice calls | ❌ | 50 coins a minute | same |
| Create a character | ❌ | 10 coins | same |
| Do coins expire | n/a | Never, but media blurs if you lapse | same |
| Payment | none | Card or crypto, no PayPal | same |
| Refund | n/a | Not once 25% of the coins are used | same |
Why monthly is the trap: Same coins, same features, twice the price. And the annual plan's second thousand coins on day one means your first month has 2,000 against monthly's 1,000. Over a year that's $239.88 versus $119.88 for an identical product.
The only honest reason to pick monthly is not knowing whether you'll stay, and the free tier's sixty messages exist to answer exactly that. Use them for it.

What 1,000 coins buys in a month: 200 in-chat images, or 50 seconds of video, or 20 minutes of calls. The realistic month is 60 images, 15 seconds of video, 5 minutes of calls and 50 coins spare. The cost calculator will run yours, and the full review covers what the coins actually buy in quality.
If free is the whole budget
Two lines, because the question behind “OurDream free” is sometimes “what's actually free.”
GoLove is the one that genuinely is: unlimited uncensored chat, no card, a Star a day for an image. Candy AI is the cheapest paid month at $3.99 on the annual, with unlimited text and 100 tokens.
OurDream's free tier is the best demo of the three and the worst plan. Treat it as the demo it is.
FAQ's
Is OurDream AI free?
There's a free tier: 5 messages before signup and 55 DreamCoins after email verification, spent at 1 coin per message. No images, no video, no daily reset.
How many free messages does OurDream AI give?
Sixty in total. Five logged out, fifty-five from the signup grant, once. Subscribers chat for zero coins.
Are OurDream AI free images blurred?
There aren't any. Free accounts can't generate images or video at all. Blur applies to a lapsed subscriber's earlier generations.
How much does OurDream AI cost?
$9.99 a month on the annual plan, billed $119.88 up front with 2,000 coins on day one, or $19.99 monthly. Both include 1,000 DreamCoins a month.
Is OurDream AI legit?
Yes. Named operator, published coin table, working support, refunds under a stated rule, and no card needed for the free tier. The safety guide has the detail.
Do OurDream AI coins expire?
No, but you can't buy more without an active subscription, and images and videos blur if the subscription lapses.
Does OurDream AI have a promo code?
No public one. Every circulating code I tested was invalid or expired. The real discounts are annual billing and the 1,000-coin referral.
How do I cancel OurDream AI?
From the profile page, with access running to the end of the paid period. There's no automatic refund, and none at all once you've spent a quarter of your coins.
The verdict
Sixty messages, seventy-two cents of value, and not one picture. That's the free tier, counted rather than claimed.
It's a good demo and an honest one, which is more than most of this category manages. Just don't plan a month around it, because it was built to run out while you're still enjoying yourself.
